Overstory removal, Hardwoods over PW regeneration

           1. Access corridors with long-reach cut-to-length (CTL) harvesters

           2. Unrestricted access - conventional equipment - "minimize damage" specification

           3. Location on high ground (sand) site

 

Wet site

           I . Track versus no‑track equipment

           2. 4/6/8 wheel equipment

           3. small versus large equipment

           4. Selective marked cut, PW or PW/MX site on soft ground

           5. Evaluate rutting and soil disturbance

 

Single tree selection cut in dense poletimber, upland site
